Tour Details
Day 1: Arrival in Tangier
Upon your arrival in Tangier, you will be greeted by your driver and transferred to your accommodation. Spend the day exploring the vibrant coastal city of Tangier. Visit the famous Cave of Hercules, where legend has it that Hercules rested during his 12 labors. Wander through the Medina and visit the Kasbah for spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, offering fresh seafood or traditional Moroccan dishes.
Day 2: Tangier to Chefchaouen
After breakfast, depart Tangier for Chefchaouen, the stunning blue city in the Rif Mountains. Upon arrival, explore the Medina, famous for its blue-painted buildings, and stroll through the picturesque narrow streets. Visit the Kasbah Museum, situated in a beautifully restored 15th-century building, and enjoy the stunning views of the Rif Mountains from the Spanish Mosque. Spend the night in Chefchaouen, surrounded by its serene atmosphere.
Day 3: Chefchaouen to Fes
After breakfast, head to Fes, one of Morocco’s most historically significant cities. Upon arrival, begin your exploration of the Fes El-Bali (old Medina), a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the Al Quaraouiyine University, considered the oldest continuously operating educational institution in the world, and the Bou Inania Madrasa, an exquisite example of Moroccan architecture. Explore the Tanneries to see how leather is still traditionally dyed. In the evening, enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner and relax in your riad.
Day 4: Fes to Ifrane and Midelt
After breakfast, depart Fes and drive through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, known as “Little Switzerland” for its alpine-style architecture and tranquil parks. Take a moment to enjoy the fresh mountain air before continuing your journey towards Midelt, the apple capital of Morocco. After a relaxing lunch in Midelt, spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the town and the surrounding mountain views. Check into your accommodation for the night.
Day 5: Midelt to Merzouga (Sahara Desert)
Travel from Midelt to Merzouga, passing through the scenic Ziz Valley, famous for its palm groves and dramatic desert landscapes. After arriving in Merzouga, take a camel ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes, one of the highest sand dunes in the Sahara Desert. Watch a mesmerizing sunset over the dunes, followed by a traditional Berber dinner under the stars. Spend the night at a desert camp, enjoying Berber music and the tranquility of the desert.
Day 6: Merzouga to Todra Gorge and Dades Valley
After an early morning sunrise over the dunes, enjoy a delicious breakfast at the desert camp. Depart Merzouga and head towards Todra Gorge, one of Morocco’s most stunning natural wonders. Take a hike through the gorge’s towering cliffs and enjoy the beauty of the oasis. Continue to the Dades Valley, known for its unique rock formations and Kasbahs. Check into a hotel or guesthouse in the valley and relax after a day of exploration.
Day 7: Dades Valley to Ouarzazate & Ait Benhaddou
After breakfast, leave the Dades Valley and travel towards Ouarzazate, often referred to as the “Gateway to the Sahara.” Visit the Taourirt Kasbah, one of the most iconic structures in the area, and explore the Atlas Film Studios, where movies like Gladiator were filmed. Continue to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its impressive kasbah, which has also appeared in several famous films. After exploring the kasbah, head towards Marrakech and check into your accommodation for the night.
Day 8: Marrakech
Spend your final day exploring Marrakech, the vibrant Red City of Morocco. Visit the famous Jemaa el-Fna, a bustling square full of street performers, food stalls, and artisans. Explore the historical Bahia Palace, known for its beautiful architecture and stunning gardens. Visit the Saadian Tombs, which date back to the 16th century, and stroll through the Majorelle Gardens, a serene space once owned by Yves Saint Laurent. Enjoy lunch at a traditional Moroccan restaurant before spending the afternoon shopping in the lively souks of the medina. End your tour with a memorable Moroccan dinner at a local restaurant before your journey concludes.
