Tour Details
Day 1: Marrakech – Tizi n’Tichka Pass – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
Your adventure begins as you depart Marrakech, heading towards the High Atlas Mountains. The scenic drive takes you over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the mountains and traditional Berber villages. Upon reaching Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, explore the ancient mud-brick kasbahs and learn about its history as a caravan stop. After lunch, continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Sahara,” where you’ll visit Kasbah Taourirt. Spend the night at a comfortable riad in Ouarzazate.
Day 2: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Valley of the Roses – Dades Gorge
After breakfast, head towards Skoura, a beautiful oasis famous for its many kasbahs. Visit the Amridil Kasbah and take in the lush palm groves. Continue your journey to the Valley of the Roses, renowned for its stunning landscapes and fragrant rose gardens. After exploring the valley, make your way to the Dades Gorge, where you can hike and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Spend the night in a cozy guesthouse in the Dades Gorge.
Day 3: Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Merzouga
Depart from the Dades Gorge and continue to the stunning Todra Gorge, known for its towering cliffs and narrow valley. Take a leisurely walk along the riverbed and soak in the fresh mountain air. Afterward, head to Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Upon arrival, enjoy a camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes, where you’ll witness a mesmerizing sunset over the golden sands. Arrive at your desert camp, where a traditional Berber dinner will be served, followed by an evening of stargazing.
Day 4: Merzouga – Erg Chebaga
Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the dunes before returning to Merzouga on camelback. After breakfast, set off for Erg Chegaga, traveling through the desert landscape and crossing the dry lake of Iriki. Enjoy the tranquility of the desert as you make your way to the camp in Erg Chegaga. Arrive in the afternoon, allowing time to relax or explore the surroundings. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Berber meal and entertainment around the campfire.
Day 5: Erg Chegaga – Foum Zguid – Agdz
After breakfast in the desert, begin your journey back towards civilization. Travel to Foum Zguid, a small town known for its desert landscapes. Continue to Agdz, a charming oasis town that offers insight into the region’s rich history. Visit local kasbahs and enjoy a leisurely afternoon exploring the lush palm groves before settling in for the night at a guesthouse in Agdz.
Day 6: Agdz – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate
From Agdz, follow the Draa Valley, famous for its palm trees and ancient kasbahs. Stop at the Kasbah of Tamnougalt for a glimpse into the traditional architecture of the region. After lunch, continue your journey back to Ouarzazate, where you’ll have the afternoon to explore at your leisure. Consider visiting the Atlas Film Studios or enjoying the local cuisine at a nearby restaurant.
Day 7: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Marrakech
Depart Ouarzazate for the return journey to Marrakech. On the way, stop in Skoura to explore its beautiful kasbahs and palm groves. Arriving in Marrakech in the late afternoon, check into your accommodation and spend the evening at leisure, perhaps visiting the bustling Jemaa el-Fna Square.
Day 8: Marrakech – Explore the Red City
Enjoy a guided city tour of Marrakech, visiting the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, the beautiful Bahia Palace, and the historic Medersa Ben Youssef. Spend time wandering through the vibrant souks, where you can shop for local crafts, spices, and textiles. In the evening, experience the lively atmosphere of Jemaa el-Fna Square as street performers, food stalls, and musicians fill the area with energy.
Day 9: Day Trip to Essaouira
