Day 1: Ouarzazate to Merzouga (via Ait Benhaddou & Dades Valley)

Morning:
After breakfast in Ouarzazate, start your journey towards Merzouga. The first stop will be Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its fortified kasbah. This stunning clay village has been featured in many films, such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Take time to explore the kasbah and its narrow streets, then continue your drive.

Afternoon:
Next, head towards the Dades Valley, a region known for its impressive rock formations and palm groves. Stop for lunch in one of the local towns, then continue to the Todra Gorge, a dramatic canyon with towering cliffs. You can take a short walk through the gorge or simply marvel at the natural beauty of the area.

Afterward, continue your journey through Tafilalet, famous for the palm trees and the scenic Ziz Valley, known for its picturesque views.

Evening:
Arrive in Merzouga in the late afternoon. Here, you’ll meet your camel guide for your camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes, the largest sand dunes in Morocco. Enjoy the magical experience of riding camels across the vast desert landscape while the sun sets over the dunes.

After about 1.5-2 hours of camel trekking, reach your desert camp for the night. Here, you’ll have dinner under the stars and enjoy traditional Berber music around the campfire. Spend the night in a comfortable tent, surrounded by the tranquility of the desert.

Day 2: Merzouga Desert to Ouarzazate

Morning:
Wake up early to witness the sunrise over the desert, a truly unforgettable experience. After breakfast at the camp, take another short camel ride back to Merzouga.

Late Morning/Afternoon:
After returning to the village, you can freshen up and have some free time to explore the area or visit a local nomadic family. Afterward, begin your drive back to Ouarzazate, following a scenic route.

Evening:
Arrive in Ouarzazate in the late afternoon, marking the end of your 2-day desert adventure
