Tour Details
Day 1: Arrival in Tangier
Upon arrival in Tangier, you’ll be greeted by your driver and transferred to your accommodation. Take the rest of the day to explore the city, starting with the Cave of Hercules and the Kasbah, which offers stunning views over the Strait of Gibraltar. Wander through the Medina, where you can shop for local handicrafts and enjoy Moroccan tea in a café. Overnight in Tangier.
Day 2: Tangier to Chefchaouen
After breakfast, depart for Chefchaouen, the charming blue-painted city nestled in the Rif Mountains. Wander through its narrow streets lined with blue-painted buildings, visit the Kasbah and the Plaza Uta el-Hammam, and enjoy panoramic views from the Spanish Mosque overlooking the city. Spend the night in Chefchaouen, enjoying its peaceful atmosphere.
Day 3: Chefchaouen to Fes
After breakfast, head to Fes, one of Morocco’s most historic and culturally rich cities. Upon arrival, take a guided tour of Fes El-Bali, the old medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the Al Quaraouiyine University, the world’s oldest continually operating educational institution, and explore the famous tanneries and Bou Inania Madrasa. Overnight in Fes.
Day 4: Fes to Meknes & Volubilis
This morning, leave Fes and travel to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Visit the impressive Bab Mansour, the Royal Stables, and the Meknes Medina. Continue on to Volubilis, an ancient Roman site and UNESCO World Heritage site, where you can explore the well-preserved ruins of temples, mosaics, and other Roman structures. Overnight in Meknes.
Day 5: Meknes to Ifrane and Midelt
Depart Meknes and head toward Ifrane, often called “Little Switzerland” due to its alpine architecture and lush green parks. After exploring, continue to Midelt, known for its apple orchards and stunning mountain views. Spend the night in Midelt, relaxing in this peaceful mountain town.
Day 6: Midelt to Merzouga (Sahara Desert)
After breakfast, travel through the scenic Ziz Valley and continue toward Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Along the way, stop in the town of Erfoud, famous for its fossil production. Upon arrival in Merzouga, embark on a camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes. Watch the spectacular sunset over the dunes and spend the night in a traditional Berber desert camp, enjoying music, dancing, and stargazing.
Day 7: Merzouga – Explore the Desert
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes before having breakfast at the desert camp. Spend the day exploring the Sahara Desert, with optional activities such as sandboarding, visiting nomadic Berber families, or taking a 4×4 tour of the surrounding areas. In the evening, enjoy another peaceful night in the desert, surrounded by the tranquil sands of the Sahara.
Day 8: Merzouga to Todra Gorge and Dades Valley
After breakfast, depart Merzouga and head to the stunning Todra Gorge, known for its towering cliffs and beautiful landscapes. Take a walk along the river, surrounded by the dramatic cliffs of the gorge. Continue to the Dades Valley, known for its unique rock formations and scenic views. Spend the night in a guesthouse or hotel in the Dades Valley.
Day 9: Dades Valley to Ouarzazate & Ait Benhaddou
This morning, travel toward Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Sahara.” Stop at the iconic Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Morocco’s most famous kasbahs. It has been featured in many films, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Afterward, visit the Atlas Film Studios in Ouarzazate, where many famous films have been shot. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
Day 10: Ouarzazate to Marrakech
After breakfast, depart Ouarzazate and drive through the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and peaks. Continue your journey to Marrakech, where you will arrive in the afternoon. Explore the famous Jemaa el-Fna square, visit the Koutoubia Mosque, and wander through the bustling souks of the Medina. Check into your accommodation and enjoy a final Moroccan dinner, marking the end of your incredible journey.
